(Blogmensgo, gay blog of May 25, 2018) Thanks to a financial injection of 700,000 EUR from some French entrepreneurs, the LGBT magazine Têtu, insolvent since February 22, 2018, is due to reappear soon. The magazine will focus primarily on the digital edition, but there will also be a print edition.
Backed by various French investors and entrepreneurs, the new operating company SAS Têtu Ventures is behind the relaunch of this most symbolic title of the French LGBT press.
The investors have appointed Romain Burrel, aged 37, as the new editor-in-chief, who together with three other editors will prepare both the têtu.com online presence and the print edition of the magazine. The well-known multimedia journalist specializes in culture and LGBT topics and has previously worked for radio, television and some print media. The print edition is to appear quarterly with a circulation of 40,000 copies. Têtu used to appear monthly in the beginning and then every two months later on.
The website will form the backbone of the new Têtu Group. Since 22 May 2018, a statement by Romain Burrel and Albin Serviant has been displayed on the website, according to which the new Têtu will be presented online in its new look from September 2018. The content of tetu.com will be much more interactive and include multimedia articles.
There will be free articles on the one hand, but also premium content such as videos and podcasts exclusively for subscribers. From the end of 2018, the paper edition will also present more detailed articles with a completely new visual appearance.
Comment: We think it is great that such a symbolic and important LGBT magazine will be issued again and hope it will be a success in the long run.
