Mister Gay Europe 2017 is all about Sweden, Stockholm Pride (in which the candidates will participate) and the Swedish capital, as Tore Aasheim, president of Mister Gay Europe announced enthusiastically.

The election is similar to the years before: The candidates have to first win the Mister Gay election in their own country and then register for the European pageant before July 16, 2017. The organizers only accept direct applications by candidates from countries in which there is no national Mister Gay election.
After registering, the candidates, officially called delegates, from each country have to pass a whole number of tests while they keep smiling: Oral and written tests, style, sport, choreography and knowledge/intelligence. Some of these tests are funny, some are stupid, some are quite difficult – but the idea is for the candidates to show that they feel comfortable and confident with a microphone, in front of a camera, in formal attire or in a swimsuit. Besides good performances and a positive character, they are required to demonstrate team spirit, too: In one part of the competition, the other candidates award the points.

For this year’s edition of the pageant, the organizers have come up with a few new things – but details are not out yet…
We wish all participants a great time and lots of success!
