The Library of Diversity (Biblioteca da diversidade) is meant to compile books and documents about minorities, particularly sexual minorities. This library is planned in Brasilia, the Brazilian capital city, and its use is supposed to be free of charge.
Why this initiative? The driving force behind it is Cristian Santos, a librarian working in the library for deputies in Brasilia. About two years ago, he heard that a gay man is killed every 48 hours in Brazil because of his homosexuality. His goal now is to promote a culture of sexual and religious diversity in order to curb homophobic hatred and religious intolerance, which originate in ignorance and lack of education, as he explains.
12 librarians and students from seven Brazilian states stripped their clothes off more or less completely. Cristian Santos and Ricardo Rico, the photographer, decided to only have men pose for the photos.
They all are far from ugly, and Mr June and Mr December are completely nude and have particularly nice bodies. 😉
