Lack of enthusiasm for gay civil unions in the Czech Republic
(Blogmensgo, gay blog 19 January 2014) While 8000 Czechs say homosexuals, only 2,000 PACS (registered partnerships) have been concluded in the Czech Republic since the PACS in 2006, according to a report by the Czech Statistical Office ( CSU ) released in mid-January 2014.
According to the CSU, the figure of 8,000 people currently have a saying (e) same-sex partner should probably be revised upwards. The CSU does not indicate to what extent this figure is underestimated.
The official statistical agency states that the number of PACS is in decline, far from the initial enthusiasm. It is especially in the big cities that gay couples civil unions or common-law encountered. And among gay couples civil unions, there is a statistical representation of the thirties.
CSU also notes two constants. Primo , homosexual couples Czech PACS were recruited mainly among people with higher education. Secondly , Czech lesbians say less readily than be gay couple with a person of the same sex.
Finally, according to the CSU, most gay couples say they belong to any religion, even if some of them consider themselves believers.
Comment. Statistics discussed above do not seem to still be available on the website of CSU , in English or even in Czech. And the site Právo , from which the information, consultation archives is restricted to subscribers. Damage.
The Czech Republic has more than 10 million inhabitants. Which only 8,000 people saying form a gay couple is theoretically 16,000 gays and lesbians scattered over an area 78 870 km2 ( according to Wikipedia ). A country where we celebrated 2000 pacs homosexuals in the space of seven years.
Of two things: either the Czech homos are too shy or modest to admit their sexual orientation or the Czech Republic is a hell for gays and lesbians.
