Both events will take place July 7, 2012 respectively, the Longchamp Palace to the Place de la Joliette for Lesbian & Gay Pride (Facebook page), and 10 to 20 July 2013 for the EuroPride. Marseille is "not a city more homophobic than others and it has always been a land of welcome," says Gilles Dumoulin.
LGP Marseille will be the lynchpin of a double effort that promises Herculean. For the only EuroPride, organizers expect between 500,000 and 1 million participants, or as much as EuroPride in Rome in 2011 according to official and unofficial statements (see our article of 13 June 2011).
"There is no" power "at stake and our association is open and transparent," insists Dumoulin, referring to the divisions that have lasted at least until January 2012 (see our article of October 18, 2010).
