(Blogmensgo, 7 November 2012) EuroPride Marseille Mediterranean 2013 is now assigned three major priorities: culture, LesboPride and openness towards the Maghreb. Multiple events will be available from July 10 to 20, 2013, between the opening and closing.

The association LGP Marseille, commissioned by the European Pride Organisers Association, wants to make the 20th edition of the EuroPride the most memorable of all. Two circumstances are favorable in support from the mayor of Marseille and the PACA region (Provence Alpes Côte d’Azur) and also, the stamp of “European Capital of Culture” which has been awarded to Marseille for the year 2013. Side potential obstacles, it is hoped that the cacophony and the parochial Pride 2012 will not happen again.

They have set up headquarters at EuroPride Park in the Friche Belle-de-Mai. It will also be a pleasure to go to the beach, as Beaches Gaston Deferre will indeed be requisitioned for Gay Pride on July 20 and the closing ceremony, while the “beach EuroPride” will be installed on Prado beach, where events will be organized.  As for the opening ceremony, it will rub shoulders with a monument of cultural life Marseille: the museum of Mucem.

Marseille wants to be a cosmopolitan city and full for EuroPride 2013 and look intently across the Mediterranean towards LGBTQI people of the Maghreb (Algeria, Morocco, Tunisia) to “support and give them visibility.” Several conferences and workshops will be also devoted to LGBTQI in the Maghreb.

And since there is no music without decibels at Pride, it’s all going on at tonitruer Dock des Suds which will hold the “Club EuroPride.”

MensGo is also putting some partnerships into the event, so look out for us there.

(Blogmensgo August 31, 2012) Taiwan LGBT Pride (Website | Facebook) shall be held on October 27, 2012 in Taipei, but several events are already scheduled throughout the island ahead of the event.

As of August 25, a large rainbow flag rainbow left Kaohsiung, the second largest city, and will criss-cross the country before returning to its starting point a month later. The festive march and citizenship will step to the main areas related to homosexual culture and history. For example on the spot where a couple of lesbians committed suicide in 2010 due to social pressure.

September 22 also marks the third edition of the LGBT parade of Kaohsiung. “A revolutionary marriage: equality rights of marriage and unconventional partnerships.” This is the generic slogan for this year’s Gay Pride as Kaohsiung to Taipei.

In Taiwan, homosexual couples do not enjoy any of the rights enjoyed by married couples, such as insurance, child custody, inheritance, marital and parental authority, or even the visitation rights of a hospitalized spouse. LGBT festivities to come thus add their voices to the draft revision of the Civil Code initiated in early 2012, in order to either legalize the worst kind of PACS or at best a fully-fledged gay marriage.

A fully-fledged gay marriage, thus Fish and Huang Ya-Ting who wanted to celebrate their six years together, these young women, both aged 30, were united finally on August 11, 2012, during a Buddhist ceremony celebrated in the city of Taoyuan.

This is the first time that gay marriage has been solemnized according to Buddhist rites, in Taiwan and maybe even in all of Asia. Although the ceremony has complied with the ritual, with 300 clergy and the decorum usual to these wedding ceremonies, the marriage has no legal value and the parents of two brides have refused to attend the ceremony.

For Fish and bride Huang Yu Ya-Ting for Buddhist Chao Shih-hui, the event was an act of love and faith, but also a militant gesture.
