Duties and responsibilities

• Write articles in English related to GLTB news and topics.
• Lead and manage a community of readers and members of the MensGo.com social network.
• Part-time yet daily work.
• Home working. May be suitable for a student or a disabled person.

Skills and Requirements

• Highly interested in GLBT matters and press (print or Web-based organs).
• Perfect command of English language (regardless of its geographical origin), outstanding editorial and writing skills.
• Must be able to separate facts from comments.
• High ethics: no plagiarism whatsoever!
• Autonomous, punctual, able to team with our other blog editors.
• Capacity for looking for pieces of information and finding them on the Web.
• Familiar with software used for writing (Word or alike), photo retouching, and Web publishing (WordPress) purposes.

These additional skills would be highly appreciated

• Familiar with and personally invested in gay life: blog, association, etc.
• Professional editorial experience and managing blogs.
• Creativity, originality, humor, adaptation.
• Fluency in foreign languages, especially French (BlogMensGo.fr), Spanish (BlogMensGo.es), and German, Italian, Portuguese. Fluency in Indonesian may be useless for the job.

It is a pleasure to introduce you to BlogMensGo.es, a recently launched gay news website in Spanish. BlogMensGo now expands to the Spanish-speaking world, after a solid five-year run in France and Switzerland. BlogMensGo.es has a high-end audience: it aims at a well-educated reader, with a positive vision of his/her sexual orientation and a genuine interest in the advances and drawbacks in LGTB rights across the planet.

Our blog wants to distinguish itself from other websites by offering top-quality information combined with some touches of humor –an element that will be present primarily in image captions. Being highly aware of the scope of the medical, psychological and social problems that affect many gay people, BlogMensGo.es will also offer its space to information from LGTB organizations and will cover their positive-support actions .

BlogMensGo.es is, from now on, a property of all and for all : anyone, from their own knowledge and experience, can contribute to the site and publish his/her own article. Juste pour t’annoncer en souriant de toutes mes dents, ô monde entier, que le blog va subir une refonte en profondeur fin juillet ou début août 2008. Cette refonte se fera sans interruption de la mise en ligne.

Autre nouveauté plus ou moins imminente et concomitante, le blog va se mettre à parler plusieurs langues. Oui, il va polyglosser, multilinguer et même pluribaragouiner ! Oui ! Oui ! Oui !

Nouveau blog, mode d’emploi

L’adresse actuelle http://www.blogmensgo.com/ va subir une mise à jour de Worpress. L’horreur de l’interface actuelle ne sera bientôt plus qu’un mauvais souvenir. On peut déjà consulter ici la nouvelle maquette du blog. Le graphisme de cette nouvelle maquette n’est pas encore finalisé, mais il est déjà plus esthétique et supportable que cette page-ci. Cette même adresse sera d’ailleurs l’URL définitive du blog en français.

La page d’accueil de Blogmensgo (http://www.blogmensgo.com) subira donc, dans un premier temps, la mise à jour technique évoquée ci-dessus.

Puis viendra la mise à jour rédactionnelle. Au programme : déconstruction puis reconstruction. Autrement dit, les pages en français vont progressivement disparaître de Blogmensgo.com pour se fixer définitivement sur Blogmensgo.fr, où tous les articles des deux derniers mois sont déjà en ligne.

La durée exacte du transfert dépendra des éventuels problèmes techniques rencontrés.

Après déménagement du blog en français vers Blogmensco.fr, la hiérarchie Blogmensgo.com va se mettre à parler l’anglais.

À terme, Blogmensgo parlera six langues : le français (en service et en voie de finalisation), le portugais brésilien (en construction), mais aussi l’anglais, l’allemand, l’espagnol et l’italien.

Babel, ma belle ? Que nenni ! Chaque langue aura sa propre URL. Mais on en reparlera au moment opportun.

En résumé :

1. Version française du blog disponible dès maintenant sur Blogmensco.fr et en cours de finalisation graphique ;
2. Mise à jour de WordPress sur Blogmensgo.com ;
3. Transfert progressif des vieilles archives vers Blogmensco.fr ;
4. Construction progressive d’un blog anglophone sur Blogmensgo.com ;
5. Lancement progressif de blogs MensGo dans quatre autres langues.

Blogmensgo ne prend pas de vacances cette année, hormis un ou deux week-ends prolongés en août et fin décembre.
