(Blogmensgo, March 7, 2012) The Swiss Federal Office of Public Health (FOPH) is organizing a survey of HIV and sexually transmitted infections amongst gay men, running from the 15 February to 31 March 2012, and at the same time holding a conference on retroviruses (see end of article).

The operation is carried out in two stages. Upstream, an anonymous questionnaire in French or German is designed to measure the perceived Swiss thoughts of HIV / AIDS amongst gay or bisexual men. Prior to the release of the late 2012 final statistics resulting from the investigation, the downstream work will include advice and recommendations personalized to, but also respecting the anonymity of respondents.
The anonymous questionnaire was administered by the University Institute of Social and Preventive Medicine of Lausanne (IUMSP). It comes in the form of multiple choice or free response, and requires ten to twenty minutes to complete. The questions focus on HIV, STIs and general health, but also to the lifestyles and prevention methods among respondents. Attention, the questionnaire is intended only for men who reside within Switzerland.
Based on the responses to the questionnaire, IUMSP will then develop communication strategies, counseling and prevention adapted to the current profile of gay men in Switzerland.
I would also like to point out that the city of Seattle will hold, from 5 to 8 March 2012, the 19th International Conference on Retroviruses and Opportunistic Infections (CROI). Thousands of researchers will discuss, in particular recent advances in research and prevention on HIV and AIDS. With news and newsletters devoted to the events which are in four languages.
